Bright Start is a family support program that has been serving families for over 20 years. Bright Start believes all children should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop to reach their full potential. Parents have a unique opportunity to enhance a child's ability to learn during the crucial years of birth to 5. In fact, research shows that positive learning experiences during the early years can affect a child's ability to succeed in school.
Bright Start's certified Parent Educators partner with parents and caregivers to realize their role as their child's first and most influential teacher during the crucial years of birth to 5. Expecting parents may also receive services. Services are provided in the home and at our center. Services are free to families who live in Macon County (Illinois) and meet eligibility guidelines. Bright Start is funded by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Department of Human Services Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting Grant (MIECHV). Bright Start is a Parents as Teachers Affiliate and igrow Macon County Partner.
